NY09: Day 1

Hello everybody,

So yesterday was my first real day in NYC.

Jeremy and I first went to Museum of Moving Image. Boo. Do not go there, it’s fun I guess, for 20 mins but definitely not worth the money, it’s just a bunch of movie props and old merchandice.

After that we went to Time Square, walked around a bit in that area, went to the Apple Store on 5th avenue and headed over to carnegie deli for the most epic sandwhich ever:

After:

I like!

When we filled our bellies we went to the Museum of Modern art (MoMa). This museum was pretty cool. There was a lot of, what I like to think of as, pretentious bullshit, perfect example:

But then again there was some very cool stuff as well,

Andy Warhol:

Roy Lichtenstein:

And the Architecture (Cat!) and Design floor:

If you don’t wanna spend 20 bucks on the museum I highly recommend going to the MoMa Shops, they have the most awesome design products that you normally only read about on the internets.

After Moma we headed over to Les Halles, and waited for Diana so we could get some dinner. I highly highly recommend Les Halles. The food is amazing. I had foie gras for the first time in my life, and it was on a fucking hamburger! Mmm-mmm. That’s one tasty burger, definitely worth the cruelty. After dinner we went to Union Square, checked out the Virgin Megastore and hung out in the park.

And to finish the day off Jeremy and I met up with Keith, Matt and Rellek to see the Hangover and grab some drinks afterwards. What an amazingly funny movie, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed out loud so much at a movie theatre. Highly recommend it.

Well that was day one, thanks to Diana, Keith, Matt, Rellek, Newsy and especially Jeremy for making it a great first day. Now it’s time for day 2, catch you later!
